How to Get PSA Birth Certificate 2019

This is a guide on how and where to get a PSA Birth Certificate. A birth certificate is one of the most basic requirements in getting IDs, going to school, applying for passports, or getting travel documents. Although birth certificates do not expire, there are some who requires it to be recently issued such as in the case of applying for a Japan Visa.

Information to be provided for the issuance of Birth Certificate:

  •     Complete name of the child (first, middle, last)

How much is the processing fee?

Fees vary depending on where you are applying for your birth certificate. Birth certificates applied at PSA Serbilis Centers or at SM Business Centers will be charged P230 per document. Those who apply online are charged P365 per document. While more expensive, this includes the convenience of being delivered to your doorstep.

How long is the validity?

Birth certificates issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority do not expire, but every document has an issuance date printed on it. You should check on where you are going use it how recent do, they require your birth certificate is issued. Such as, when applying for a Japan Visa you are required to submit a birth certificate issued in the last six months prior to your application.

This is the fastest way to obtain a birth certificate as you can get it the same day.

Step 1: Visit any PSA Serbilis Center nationwide.
Step 2: Bring the following requirements: 1) One Valid ID 2) Filled Application Form 3) Authorization letter if not related to the birth certificate applicant.
Step 3: Have documents verified.
Step 4: Pay the fee of P230 per birth certificate.
Step 5: Claim at releasing area.

Getting birth certificates via this method is convenient as you can do this at home, and it is to be delivered at your door. The downside of this method is it takes a few days for it to arrive and it is also more expensive because of the delivery.

Step 2: Fill up the form by providing the required details. The first page will ask for the requester’s information and delivery address. Next is the information of person getting the birth certificate. It is important to make the information accurate to avoid getting a negative result.

Step 3: Make payment using credit cards or by paying at designated banks, mobile banking channels or accredited payment center.

Step 4: Wait for 3-5 working days for Metro Manila and 4-9 working days for outside Metro Manila.
